Cohabitating Couples

Cohabiting is the voluntary act of living together to the exclusion of others but in circumstances where the parties are not married to one another. In Ireland, a cohabiting couple is not recognised as a ‘family’ even in circumstances where the parties have lived together for a number of years, or where they have children.

Cohabitation Agreement in Ireland – How to Proceed with it?

We can provide legal advice in relation to the preparation of a cohabitation agreement following independent legal advice by the other party in order to facilitate the parties to regulate their financial and property matters in a structured and organised manner. Such agreements are likely to be enforceable so long as they are not conditional on the parties performing marital duties.
