Music Fan Settles High Court Injuries Claim

A fan of Oasis recently brought a case in the High Court for damages after claiming he was injured while in a queue for drinks at the a concert in Slane.

The applicant claimed his ankle was fractured when he was pushed against a barrier during a crush. Both the promoter and the organisers of the bar along with Lord Mountcharles were sued. The case for compensation for the injuries sustained opened before the High Court with Counsel for the applicant saying his client was caught in a ” human crush”. Apparently the serving in the bar was very slow which led to a “highly dangerous” build up of people.

On the second day of the hearing the Judge was told that the matter had been settled. It would seem that once the first day was completed that negotiations began between the parties which ultimately led to the both parties reaching a settlement. While no details of the settlement were provided in Court we can assume the Plaintiff will receive some compensation for the injuries suffered.

The injuries were suffered three years ago and this time frame gives an idea of how long it can take for a personal injuries matter to get to Court once it has been dealt with by the Personal Injuries Assessment Board.
