For many years it was thought that the cost of motor insurance in Ireland was so high because of high legal costs through Personal Injury claims.
To this end, the Personal Injuries Assessment Board (PIAB) was introduced in 2004. This brought about fundamental changes to the way personal injuries claims were brought in Ireland.
However, it did not have the intended effect of dispensing with Solicitors who still now form the major part of personal injury claims. So while you could go it alone, most people choose to go through a Solicitor.
How much is my injury claim worth?
It depends on many factors. We find Insurance companies will seek to settle your claim earlier than may be optimal for you. After all depending on the injury suffered it can take time for your injuries to settle down.
